WD 2tb my book when attached to PC gives error of "USB device not recognized". In device management there is yellow icon with "port reset failed" code 43 error . tried all the solutions through google. but none of them works, connected with other system but doesn't worked. drive is encrypted by WD company , So data is not showing when simply attached with PC.

Is the hard drive at least properly recognized in BIOS/UEFI when you direct SATA connect it to the computer? It's possible that just the USB bridge failed.
If you do connect it to the computer, just be sure you don't initialize or format it when prompted by Windows.

data-medics, yes the hard drive properly recognized in BIOS, through hiren CD I checked the drive is 100 % Ok. I also thinking that its the problem of USB bridge connected to drive in the box. how can I recover data from this drive.

OK, please disregard the last two comments above. You can't recover the data of this over SATA because the date is almost certainly encrypted. You'll need to replace the USB -> SATA bridge with a compatible one. There's a number on the board which is in the format of 4061-7XXXXX-XXX REV X. Just match that number and find a replacement on ebay. That will be able to decrypt the data so you can access it again.

Won't work, these drives use hardware encryption through the USB bridge.

This only works if you have a PC-3000 to extract the encryption key from the firmware and decrypt the data.

Yes I know about the encryption... but I thought reallymine could handle the encryption when knowing the password.
On the programmers website I read:
Simply run the program, providing the drive to decrypt and a file that the decrypted image will be stored to:
reallymine encrypted decrypted
But I haven't tried reallymine...
And now I'm almost sure that the described will work only with usb connection.
I had not considered that. Sorry for my wrong advice
