Hi,
I need some help to recover data from my platters. I was wondering if I bought another HDD and moved one platter at a time to copy the data would that work or does each platter have a bit of data of the file? I hope someone could help me retrieve my data.
So i needed to ask some experienced users as clearly have no idea what i'm doing. So I have this Toshiba drive which has only films on it. All my videos, home videos, downloaded ones. All is on this one drive. So I noticed that it was preforming really slowly and would freeze time to time. I noticed it maybe the drive so i took it out and mounted it on an enclosure which asked me to initialize the drive i then mounted it on a dock, this time it asked me to format. I decided not to I put it back in my computer and copied a few files before it kept crashing and eventually stopped working. I looked online to see how youtube could help. they said the PCB board could be changed i changed this and the drive started to spin again but didn't show up on the computer. They said that the head maybe on the platter therefore its not park and not reading. It wasn't and i put the cover back on. I don't know what to do now.
thank you in advance guys!

If the data is valuable to you the only solution (if its not to late) is a data recovery pro NOT A COMPUTER TECH
and DO NOT open the lid anymore outside of a clean environment (class 100)
AND DON'T YOU DARE REMOVE THE PLATTERS
