How to stop a scratching sound from my hdd?

September 8th, 2016, 13:06

What does mean that scratching sound, when I open a browser and at that time torrent is working, hdd starts to produce scratching sounds one by one. Scratching sound followed by vibration sound like it is parking all the time. It sounds almost always when computer is working. Something with heads, how to understand what is wrong with it? Maybe when I know the error, I will be able to fix it. This sound is so irritating, and if I listen to a music at that time it can stop sounding in few seconds when the head is parking.

Yeah, the sound is from my hdd. I'm absolutely sure of it. It's been for a long time I couldn't understand what's wrong. I've already checked smart and scanned with victoria. Victoria showed that there were no bad blocks but when appeared that scratching noise it marked it as a timeout, and there were lots of timeouts, but it didn't scan the hdd completely. In the middle of scanning I heared two scratching sounds and the message "No DRQ?" so I turned off computer manually. Something is wrong with heads, but I don't know what exactly. It is parking all the time. But why? What is wrong with it?

It's Seagate Pipeline 1TB. When I want to open any webpage in browser it opens so slow. I'm usually waiting for 5 minutes untill the page will be opened. And at that time I hear the sound of parking heads. And it is parking over and over again with a loud scratching sound. May I know from professional hdd experts what's exactly wrong with heads and how to fix it?

Mhhh, it sounds like there is something wrong with the drive rather something the drive is programmed to do. Seems like it is damaged. Can run diagnosis with MHDD.
