Backup HDD in raw format

Hi everybody,

Few months ago I dropped my external HDD.. Since then it's not well recognised by windows. At first, I managed to access it a few times so I thought it was ok. I had no opportunity to backup everything as I was travelling. Now that I am back home I've tried many things to make it works.
First, I wanted to know if it was a mechanical problem, since my HDD hit the ground. But when I plug it in my computer, it sounds like its spinning normally and no clicking noise.
I recently changed the enclosure for this HDD and now it's visible in windows every time (in file explorer, disk managment, etc..) But still not accessible because it's not responding. In disk managment I've found that the disk actually became RAW format.
I've tried to use TestDisk 7.0 but at 22% of the analysis the program stops because there's an error.
Does that mean that my disk is completely damaged ? Do you know any backup software that are free ?

One last thing, I let "Free RAW partion recovery" run for about 5-6h and it was able to see alot of the data I want to recover. However the free version is only able to recover 100mo.. I've already recovered some photos thanks to that.

Tell us hdd model.

I agree with @spildit, but this is assuming that all the heads are reading. A dropped drive means physical damage which will only get worse the longer it is powered on.
