The drive spins up and clicks 4 times and then stops and sounds normal. It actually almost sounds like it calibrates. I short the read channel right as the second "Spin Up" appears, but it doesn't do anything...I just get this...
- Code:
Boot 0x40M
Spin Up
RECOV Servo Op=0100 Resp=0005
Trans.
Spin Up
SpinOK
RECOV Servo Op=0900 Resp=0005
RECOV Servo Op=0600 Resp=0005
(P) SATA Reset

If I start hitting hitting Ctrl-Z right as I short the read channel, I briefly get the prompt, before the drive locks up again. This is as close as I've been able to get to gaining access to terminal again. The drive had bad heads originally, but I swapped them out.
- Code:
Boot 0x40M
Spin Up
RECOV Servo Op=0100 Resp=0005

RECOV Servo Op=0900 Resp=0005
RECOV Servo Op=0600 Resp=0005

In your opinion, is this just an issue with the timing when it comes to shorting the read channel, or is it something else?

and noticed your offer to help. I would be interested to know how to fix so many similar problems with
all these "DM" series Seagate drives. Please reply as soon as possible how much you want payment, etc...
Thanks!
