You can try checking the 5 last digits (A1PS0) - 11 is manufactured for some integrator. Try 160 gb HDD. Same architecture.
Check DCM also.
Sample : HHNNNTJMA (Motor, Headstack and Actuator/Preamp) . First digit (Motor = H) .
TJ code is essential. T = Headstack and J = Actuator.

Hello,
I'm also currently working on a failed:
WD3200BMVV-11A1PS0 (Venus)
HHNTJHBB
Micro Jogs
------------------------------
LH : PH : Micro Jog (Hex/Dec)
------------------------------
0 : 0 : 932/2354
1 : 1 : 969/2409
2 : 2 : 8E0/2272
3 : 3 : 94A/2378
I attempted to use a Denali as a donor:
WD3200BEVS-26VAT0
DHCTJANB
Micro Jogs
------------------------------
LH : PH : Micro Jog (Hex/Dec)
------------------------------
0 : 0 : 93E/2366
1 : 1 : 8F5/2293
2 : 2 : 92C/2348
3 : 3 : 91E/2334
However, this failed to initialise the patient. Heads worked fine afterwards in the donor. Any one with any experience on the compatibility with these?
Thanks,
John

OK, just got this one initialised from a second Denali:
WD3200BEVT-75ZCT2
HACTJAB

Hopefully they will last the job.

For reference the first set of donor parts were also suitable; the patient HDD is very badly degraded. With both sets it has been possible to get to SA and read. Reading any user data is slow going.
