HDD detected by os but no readable

Hi,

My wd400 not work since Tuesday.

My OS is on it and the computer doesn't want start on it. I have the issue "retry start press F1", indefinetly.
When I plug on my other pc, It detectes it but I have issue :
"Hardware problem, I/O (current)"

I have some very importants files of my work and I don't want loss them.

On this site "http://datacent.com/datarecovery/hdd/western_digital"
it seems firmware problem on WD, because I don't have clicking but just "rrrrr" and HDD is detected.

Does anyone had the same problem ?

model is wd400bb-22hea1 (with ide connection)

Can you show us how CrystalDiskInfo detects your drive? Does it produce a SMART report?

@laurent1, try to read your drive's firmware modules with WD Marvel demo version.

I suspect that one or modules will be damaged. If so, then there may be a DIY fix.

Yes, the drive is visible on the bios screen with its capacity and details.
Does HRT-DRE work even if hdd is ext4 formatted ?

Hi. Looking at the data provided the Crystal disk info software it appears the drive is connected to a usb interface. If you want to test, clone or repair the drive you really need to connect it to an ide interface.
