Hi to all,
i need help to repair my dead drive. Not spinning.
WD Caviar SE16 - WD5000AAKS
PCB: 2061 - 701477-900 AD XC 4V10 02L3 J 0002230 8232
I checked R64, R67, D3, D4 and they are good, but I have short to ground on D1 pins (with and without soldered diode)
Any help?
Regards

D1 is a Schottky diode. It is part of the Vcore supply. IIRC, you should normally measure around 100 ohms to ground at this point. If you indeed measure 0 ohms, then the MCU, or one of the Vcore filter/bypass capacitors (eg C25/C24), is probably shorted.
