Compatible Heads for WD10TMVW-11ZSMS4

December 7th, 2016, 17:23

Hi, currently I have a WDBPCK0010BBK WD MyPassport or Elements drive on my table. Inside is the WD10TMVW-11ZSMS4 drive. This drive was dropped, but I can't see any physical damage to the heads. My problem is, that one head does not read.

Currently I'm looking for compatible heads for this drive.

I used the 2060-771692-001 PCB to convert this HDD from USB to SATA. This PCB is from a WD7500BPVT drive. Does it mean, I can use the heads from the WD7500BPVT drive? Or can some one help me with a suggestion of a compatible drive?

Your patient is from Helios family, so preferably to take donor from the same family. You can use heads from Shasta/Shasta2D/Shasta3D families as well.
As analog, you've used SATA PCB from Zephyr family (WD7500BPVT ). Constructively, HDA's are different for this families, but type of heads is the same. So in the worse case, you can use heads from Zephyr family after moving the platters on the positions.
