Verbatim External Won't Work.

December 11th, 2016, 14:42

I have this Verbatim External drive. Model 47512. I think it is 1T.

It doesn't switch on. The green led doesn't come on. But funny thing I took it off the computer it was on and put it on another one (out in the shed) just for laughs and it didn't switch on there either, the first day. A couple of days later I noticed it was on! And it stayed on for a few days.

And now its off again. And I can't switch it on.

And with that toggle push button switch you don't know if you've got it in the 'on' position or the 'off'.

I have read a thread here about Verbatim external.

The advice there was was

. Check the USB cable. Swap it for a known good one.
. Take it out of the enclosure and try it in the pc.

I guess that's still the best advice?
