Hi guys, I'm working on an MD02500-BJDW with a broken head
Clearly we really have a a WD2500JS-00NCB1 with 10.02E02 firmware version
Magnetic Data label hide all the information of the original drive (date, DCM, etc)
So can someone of you suggest a way to identify a good enough donor drive?
Thank you in advance for your time and answers

Trial and error my friend. That's usually the best you can do. I'd start by trying to find one with as close of a consolidated ROM version as possible. That way you're probably getting a close date at least. In my experience, I've found that the date is more important than the country or even the DCM code.
You also might try buying the same model MDT drive and hope it was from the same batch.

That's right. Thank you my friend.
