st3000dm001 mcmt corrupt

January 16th, 2017, 2:17

Hi so I have this drive and it was stuck with a fault reading the media cache causing the bsy error (sim 3005).

So I shorted the read channel to get read access jumped into level c and issued U1 U2 and U3 and now I have access to the drive and it shows in windows and I have dumped the drive contents successfully.

When the drive boots when connected to serial I get mcmt logs as below is this normal as I have not seen this before?

Code:

Is there a command to scan the SA for possible errors, I have already formatted the user partition and regenerated the defect lists but I did not know if this scans and regenerates the SA is this what autoscan does in the previous generation drives.
