Cannot Format Hard Drive (BAD sectors)

January 22nd, 2017, 6:31

Hi everybody,

I am new to this forum and I am looking for someone to help me to recover hard drive before I smash it and throw away.

I have a hard drive USBSTOR\DiskHitachi_HTS542516K9SA00_BBCO and I cannot format it.

My guess is that it was password protected at some stage which results in not being able to format it.

See attached screenshot of what I'm getting while formatting it.

Thanks in advance
Arthur

I dont know if its some kind of a joke, but I'll bear with you on this one

If the data has any value to you, then stop immediately what you doing, the first 16M is already gone and can't be recovered !!!
