Seagate ST3000DM001 noises

Hello friends, I have a dead drive which is making weird noises.

The drive used to show up in disk management but no software recovery tools were able to access it, and now it's gone from everywhere including the BIOS. Back then the only option I had in disk management was to initialize the disk, but I didn't do that because I thought I'd lose the data. I don't think I damaged the disk since it was mostly inactive until the last month of it's life(had it for at least 2 years), and it was always sitting calmly in my case.

I can see some signs of corrosion? on the PCB/contact points and was wondering if this could be the problem.

Could someone try to identify the issue and let me know if I'd be able to fix this drive, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I don't have good news for you
I'm afraid you don't want to hear this, but your drive is most likely not recoverable.
The heads are gone, and they've taken the media with them.
Judging by the sound, I'm pretty sure opening the lid will give unpleasant surprises.

You can always consult a DR Pro who will inspect the drive inside a clean room and hope for the best, but I wouldn't hold my breath

Thanks for the help, you are correct. The disk itself isn't glossy, it looks like it was just uniformly scratched all over the surface. Lots of dust all over the filter and cover, I guess my data has literally turned to dust

This isn't the first time I've seen the same hard drive break this way, I wonder if these seagate drives have some kind of design flaw...
