Hmm, what are my options when the drive was locked by another utility, which didnt work as required.
I locked a western digital HDD with a master password, but the program gave some crazy corrupted message and died, leaving me with a hdd that doesnt respond to the master code which was set.
atapwd get all: command rejected by drive messages when trying to unlock
the security is set to high... can i unlock this drive
data is not needed .. i just want to use the drive...
Hope you can be of help...
with kind regards
Marco

Its
xboxhdm ...
A linux tool for xbox harddrives.... it should set a master password but the master password isnt set...
It cloned the drive succesfully
could it be faulty harddrive causing this behaviour? The harddisk is brand new....
But. the security is set to high (not max) and i dont need the data on the disc..... can i recover it ?
ps... mhdd is erasing the drive even without a valid pass ????

I suppose X-Box computers will change master password of a new drive immediately after installing. So, I don't know what to do.
MHDD cannot do anyhting with drive until you know the password.

well... personally i think it cannot be guaranteed that this lockup wasnt caused by a hardware failure.. so i am returning it for warranty... check if that works..
passwords are stored on secured area of drive.. i heard of tools unlocking those areas but not for public
