A Maxtor 6Y200P with psycological problems

January 6th, 2005, 6:49

Hi, Happy New Year to everybody.

I have here a Maxtor 6Y200L0. A chip is burned. Changed card with one with same FW and card code near to the original.

HD starts, but it is seen as 6Y250P6. Card used is from a 120Gb. Another card from a 60Gb gives same result.

PC3K sees HD as 6Y250P6, 6heads. Test with pc3k gives all modules OK. Of course, I cannot read a bit from hd.

Customer said He tried only to exchange cards with another identical HD...

Psycological problems ? Identity problems ?

Can I fix, or have I to call a mental specialist ? :o

Thanks

Must be the Maxtor 6Y200L0'PCB was different from the 60GB's PCB.Although many Maxtor pcb card is the same batch ,the Roms information is diferent in the same batch hdd.You can use the broken hdd's rom chip to rescue the 200GB HDD's data.
Good luck!
