Every 20s Clicks Seagate ST32000542AS 2Tb Barracuda LP CC37

So, i have HDD Seagate ST32000542AS 2Tb Barracuda LP CC37

- it works, did yesterday MHDD surface test all OK
- reads/writes data ok

Issue:

- if drive idle [ no read/write data] every 20s [ i timed] does single click,
and on repeat. When i do some read/write it stops, and when idle
it starts again.

Tested:

- not OS related, since clicks even in bios menu whilel idle

Question:

- it has fw: CC37, will update to CC35 help ? or
- what can i try ?

Note:

- not about DATA question, don't suggest Backup

Show us the SMART report. In particular, check the load/unload cycle count.

Otherwise, the drive may be performing a background media scan.

Also did search for FW update and notice that the CC37 is newer than CC35,
and downgrading can make worst.
Reminder: - clicks persists when drive just powered, and no OS is booted.

Have you checked your PSU? Could also be a power problem...

So i investigated the issue, and it is parking heads noise
in the short idle mode [ 20s in my case] which is set
in the factory by CC37 FW.
So i need to disable APM to fix it.
Will post the progress.
