clicking Seagate ST1000DL002 data recovery

September 23rd, 2018, 17:44

Hi,

I have a Seagate ST1000DL002 SATA HDD. One day, it produced uneven noises.
During the surface test there were a few bad sectors.
An another day surface test was showing more and more bad sectors, and suddenly the HDD started beeping repeatedly,
and it was no more visible under Windows and also in BIOS. Every time when powered on, just giving beeping and clicking sound.

Any help would be appreciated.

The heads died.

Since the drive was kind enough to give you signs that it's going to bite the dust soon, I'm assuming you've already backed up everything, no?

Thank you for the reply.

Because of the lack of space on my SSD, I could rescue only few gigabytes of the HDD content. Lot of my important data remained on the drive.

What is the method for getting remained data from this drive?

Head replacement, but it's not DIY....
Search for a lab to do it for you.
