I have a Maxtor 6L300R0 (BAJ41G20) with a dead PCB. I've bought another 6L300R0, but this name is the BAH41G10 model. The dead drive has the Beagle E5-D4 main IC chip, while the donor drive has the D4-D4 IC chip. The donor drive also has a Hynix flash chip, while the dead drive has a Winbond chip.
I've replaced the PCB on the dead drive, and it does spin up and seek the heads, but it will not get recognized by the BIOS. In master mode, the computer locks up while detecting the drive, while in slave mode, the computer boots up as if the drive isn't hooked up.
Is there a method to get it running without replacing the heads, platters, or chips on the board?
