Salvation Data Products / Firmware Software

January 17th, 2005, 19:39

Has anybody here had any experience with the Salvation Data products found at salvationdata.com? They claim to fix firmware issues for the different manufacturers.

Which products do you guys like the best or with which have had the most success?

Thanks in advance!

I'll be short - GARBAGE! SCAM!

Really? That's why this forum is great! I was considering buying the whole suite as well.

What do you guys think is the best software to perform firmware testing and replacement?

you won't find anything better than pc3k at the moment.

I have a meeting to visit their facility in Canada. I'll be honest. I am a little concerned about the price in comparison with the fact that it does not operate on 2.5" drives or anything bigger than 120GB.

The best thing to do is to take care about comments.
Is not nice to say comments - good or bad - about things that we do not have or that we do not had use it hard.
The product that cover most part of the hard disks in use - at this moment - is The PC3000.
The HRT cover less hard disk but has some features that are very usefull.
The salvation data is a product that is only software based, and also they use Linux, to say if works or not and what is the process that they are using I need to have at least one, and at this moment I do not have. Seams to me that the Data recovery software that they have has an interesting feature ( if really works, of course ) because they say that you can do hot swap with all hard disks, and this can help a lot in some data recoverys case.
Anyhow I do not know at least one person that has one product from them, also they are saying since octuber that they will release Hitachi and Seagate utitilies and until now I do not see even a note to read about this products.

Now that you are saying, I also realize but I never does a comment.
Everybody that sells product for hard disk are waitting for Acelab, and they will show or offer something after Acelab realize the upgrade of the utility.
Evrybody say that Acelab is not good, that they do this and that, but this is true all others are waitting them.
And maybe ( I do not like to say things that I'm not sure ) theses companys will stolen the code from Acelab.
Has companies ofering upgrades and others ofering solutions since last octuber, but until now we do not saw anything.

2. Commercial software always have some limitation ( you must buy new version is'n it?   )

Hi,

True, pravda :O) But some companies worry about investing time and money when acelab maybe make utility 1-2 weeks after their own expensive research is done :O( ........

Thats why it's good to keep your own information to yourself ;oP
