How do you know the ROM is defect?

Is the ROM completely unreadable, or is only a portion of it bad? If the latter, then it may be possible to reconstruct it. Can you upload your ROM dump?

Translation: "Unfortunately, the memory is completely damaged"
If the ROM is really totally dead, then I'd say it's game over. While there might be some theoretical possibility of getting data back, it's undoubtedly beyond reasonable means to recover.

How did the damage happen? Someone used hot air on the chip and destroyed it?
