Has anyone tried using MRT Lab New PC-USB-TERMINAL Adapter?

MRT New PC-USB-TERMINAL Adapter has voltage detection either on software or using jumper, anyone tried this on Acelab PC3000 yet? would this work?

thanks

I can't say whether MRT's adapter would work with PC3K, but here is my take on how it autodetects the I/O voltage, if indeed that's what it does:

PC3K presumably selects the voltage on Ace's adapter by way of two GPIO pins on the bridge IC. AISI, there is no guarantee of interchangeability. Even if Ace's adapter is built around the same bridge IC (Prolific PL-2303HX), Ace could very well be using different GPIOs. And even if Ace were to use the same GPIOs, they could still be defined differently.

For example, if GPIO1 and GPIO2 were set to 00 by the software, Ace's adapter might decode this as 1.8V, while MRT's adapter might decode it as 3.3V.

Thanks for the explanation Frank, ignoring the software autodetect function, there are 3 different settings that can be set using a jumper, i guess that would work if the auto doesnt.

The reason i am looking for this terminal is to deal with Sandisk Ultra II translator issue, the old pc3000 usb terminal only use 5v whereby the sandisk requires 1.8v, can someone confirm this please thanks
