Also, if you upload detailed photos of the HDD and bridge PCBs, I could help you to determine if the 5V supply rail was overwhelmed. I can't see any other way for the preamp to have been damaged, unless the motor controller failed and overvolted the preamp's negative supply rail. But then this would mean that the HDD PCB is a donor with the patient's ROM.
I could also show you the +5V and -5V test pins for the preamp. A resistance test may reveal whether the preamp is dead.
Still one more test would be to measure the read and write channel DC voltages when the drive is spinning.
Otherwise, someone may be able to analyse the servo errors for you.
