WD5000AAKX-083CA1 rebuilding ROM

August 31st, 2019, 2:32

Hello,

I have a WD5000AAKX-083CA1 drive that I am looking to access the SA to rebuild the ROM module. I have seen that SA access can be accomplished using a hotswap with a similar board. I have tried this without success. I have a 1 month license for wdmarvel. It looks like I need to recalibrate the drive using an ATA command. I am not sure how to do this. The original ROM chip is lost.
