seagate LM021 system file issue

September 27th, 2019, 2:59

Hi to all
I have this YarraX drive , I could read all sectors on Head 0 but while reading head 1 either I get very slow reading rate or get errors.
I cant read sysfiles properly though modules can be read normally.
What should be my best step in order to recover data safely. I dont want to experiment with drive and make original issue more complex.

Why don’t you change the heads, before H1 packs up entirely?

hi pepe & pcimage
Thank you so much for replying. :good: :-D
Yes head transplant will the the most appropriate solution , however this is low cost student level recovery with limited budget ,
Customer has requested to try on firmware level only.

in that case we cannot help i'm afraid...
you either replace it and clone stuff fast or struggle with it for hours or days and kill it for good (probably).
It's your deal with your client.
