Seagate Firmware upgrade

December 17th, 2005, 20:35

I have two Seagate 160 GB Sata drives. Both drives are the same modell but one drive has a newer firmware.
Is it possible to backup the newer firmware from the drive and flash it to the other one to upgrade the older firmware?

Hi,
for example this tool can do:
http://www.salvationdata.com/view/produ ... p?pn=00011
but it's a little bit expensive ;-)
and I thougt there is a maybe a free sw around which is able to read/write firmware too.
