HDD: WD1600AAJS-22WAA0

when connecting this pcb with hdd or PCB only in MRT
I m getting like this, What will be the Problem

Hi!
Maybe the controller, or one of zero ohm resistor is dead. Try "smart hot swap" method!

The MCU on this PCB is affected by "head mimic" faults.

If you wish to check the supply voltages, then measure Q1 (+3.3V), L1 (+1.2V) and the anode of D2 (-5V).

Note that the -5V rail may be switched on briefly and then switched off.

You might try installing the PM2 (PUIS) jumper. If the ROM supports this jumper, then the drive may come ready without trying to spin the motor.

So is the 1.2V Vcore supply missing?

I'm assuming the capacitor is shorted, in which case you should try replacing it. I would choose a 10uF, 6V MLCC. You should be able to find a suitable replacement on a spare PCB.

https://au.mouser.com/Passive-Components/Capacitors/Ceramic-Capacitors/MLCCs-Multilayer-Ceramic-Capacitors/Multilayer-Ceramic-Capacitors-MLCC-SMD-SMT/_/N-bkrdv?P=1z0wrkrZ1yx4avtZ1yzmouc

You should check that Q2 is not shorted. To this end, measure the resistance between the +5V supply and L1.

Hello,
i need help do identify this part:
i3cg.
I don´t find any part in i-Net.
My measurement says 30pF?
It this part only an capacitator?
D1 and D2
At the measurment point i dont get 1,2V! I check only 15mV

most probably a schottky diode (a designator of Dxx rarely if ever means a cap), something like 30V/1A should be ok there i think. But i am wondering if there are other problems on the board too. What values do you measure on those diodes in diode checking mode? (both directions)

Thank for fast response ;)
i solder the item out ant take a multimeter and my fine MTester 2.07
I check both direction with the same result --> 35pF

we don't want to measure capacitance, test it as a diode, pls.

I think that the PCB is OK and the problem is elsewhere.
What is your drive behavior?

I have check the parts as diode.
0,155v in one direction
and no result in the another direction. So the power can only go ine one direction ;)

The HDD dont Spin on, makes no sound. Not detectable..

Find a compatible PCB ( 2061-701499 ) replace and generate ROM from SA.

Well,
Someone has flashed the wrong rom and the pcb is now in a dead state ,It can be revived with a proper rom flash using com port interface " assuming its not bad electrically bad "

Hello "unknown" ;)
What did it mean --> SA?
#
replace and generate ROM from SA.
#

i have ordered a compatible PCB in China and waiting for the item.
Than i must solder out an in the Chip 88i6745N
That is the difficult part

it is possible to read the chip an erase and program the other chip?
I have only tools to program SPI chips (like MX25V8006E)

best regards

System area.

You will NOT need to solder out, but you will need a proper tools to generate ROM from system area as this PCB doesn't have an external U12.

Good luck
