Converting USB to SATA PCB on Toshiba 2.5

December 31st, 2019, 18:33

Hi all, I'm a first time poster and just a rookie at detailed solder work and board building in general. Actually not looking to do any work if I can help it hired or by myself. Here's what I have:

Toshiba MQ01UBD100 AZA AA00/AX001U

PCB is G003250A

Is there a way I can get ahold of a SATA PCB that I won't need to solder chips on? Like say if the firmware matches?

Also after taking a look at this thread:

https://forum.hddguru.com/viewtopic.php?t=28898

I'm confused on what I would have to solder, if I had to. I though it was the ROM 8 pin chip, is that not the case? Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

hdd-parts.com will supply a PCB and include a firmware transfer in the price.
