Question regarding compatibility of HDD PCBs

Hi all

I'm trying to see if I can restore/salvage my wifes old seagate hard drive. I've narrowed it down to a burned out PCB, and I'm looking for a replacement. An acquaintance had a similiar old seagate hard drive, that he gladly donated to the cause. But I'm having difficulties figuring out if the PCB is compatible with the old one. So before I heat up my solder and move the bios, I would like some expert advice.

The hard drives have the following specs:

Old drive
Seagate Barracuda 250GB 7200.10
Board number: 100468303 REV A
ST3250410AS
P/N: 9EU142-310
Firmware: 4.AAA

Potential new PCB
Seagate Barracuda 250GB 7200.12
Board number: 100535704 REV B
ST3250318AS
P/N: 9SL131-021
Firmware: HP34

The PCB is the same shape and size, tho they are not similar in their "layout". The board numbers don't match, but I cant figure out the compatibility of those?
If it won't work, can I get a few advice on what to look for? Do I need precisely the same board number and firmware etc, or what do I need to look for?

.10 series you can find a matching board without swapping the Rom

Match the board number and Firmware version

Post a pic of the component side of the PCB, it could just be a bad TVS and may not need a board replacement

The two Diodes under the "Seagate" stamp on the upper left of the PCB. Test those in Diode mode on a multi-meter.

Is the drive not spinning at all? When you apply power and put your ear up to the drive do you hear anything like a whirring noise? or just dead silence.

I have seen plenty of that family of drives that had seized motors as well.

Real life called for a few days, but I've gotten some time to look at it again.
I've tried to test the two diodes, and they both show a spike on the multi-meter, so they should still be good?

I've tried plugging it in a few times now, and for the most part it does a start up sequence, and then it shuts off, and no noise comes from it. Sometimes it keeps spinning, but it could not be found by the computer.

Then I tried one more time, and it kept spinning! I'm currently doing a backup of it now. Thanks for the help!
