I am pretty sure not all neccessary adaptives are transfered by pc3k.
can you also post the result of adaptives import?

for test I made a new change of head from another compatible donor I attach the rom of the new donor and the rom with the adaptive parameters taken, thanks for the help Pepe

yeah, some adaptives are taken which are not neccessary, some not that would be useful, but the drive should at least spin up without problem with those...
I would suspect a flipped platter if it came opened...

the disc arrived intact and even before disassembling the platter to check its condition it had this behavior. The disc arrived in the laboratory because it was clicking, I saw servo error and I changed the heads but I didn't get results, thinking it was a scratched plate I checked that the 0 disk was good and so it is, so I tried the heads on the donor and they worked I then mounted the heads again and tried with the adaptives but so far nothing done. Thanks Pepe

more or less the same...
But i just suspected it, if it arrived to you opened, didn't mean you should immediately flip that platter :s.
The first donor had different preamp, which is not imported and might cause mr bias to be set incorrectly. But i am not sure if that causes it. I would diag it with some special tools...
Or get a donor with same preamp and head, which would eliminate the need of dealing with adaptives (at least on this level).

I checked the number printed on the flat of the head and it is the same, I tried with two different donors and a really very close donor with the same firmware but nothing, I always get the same error. I'm in the dark: -S

I can probably recover it but not remotely.

Did anyone found the solution?? I have the same exact problem. Changed 4 couple of heads. Still having the exact same issue
April 11th, 2025, 2:53
This must be some problem with ROM i believe. After changing heads 3 times, and changing platters to other case. I realized something is messing with the spinning motor.
When changing heads. The drive still clicks 2 times then stops. Reason is the motor doesn't even want to spin fast enough to let the heads get on the platters
Then i tried changing platters. On the 1st turn on of the drive. The drives ID normally, and you can even read sectors. But as soon as you turn off the drive (to change some settings) Turning it on will give it back same error state as before
