toshiba MK5059GSXP not recognizing

Hi,

i have one old HDD ( MK5059GSXP toshiba ) with some important data which is not recognized by by notebook. light is showing and can hear normal disk running sound also but is not recognized by PC. checked disk management, changed cable, port and tried on other PC but result is the same. can someone throw some light on it, will be highly appreciated.

Probably bad sectors, or FW “lockout” caused by same.

IF THE DATA IS NOT IMPORTANT AND YOU ARE PREPARED TO RISK IT...

Search this forum for details on non-windows cloning software, such as hddsuperclone or ddrescue.

If the HDD is not recognised by this software, or does but does not clone or does so very slowly, then STOP.

IF THE DATA IS IMPORTANT THEN REFER TO A DATA RECOVERY SPECIALIST.
