hello
i have a WD My Passport Studio with damaged WD10JPVT, i'm able to recover all sector (100%) with Rapidspar and 3 donor then Clone it to another 2.5" disk.
now if i put my new 2.5" on original usb fw/pcb windows not recognized mass storage ( only wd SES device ) while put original WD10JPVT on pcb recognize it with filesystem but obviously with donor head read partially can save only some file ( becouse i need to replace head 3 times, first donor read H0 and H3, then H1 and H2 with other )
can't try to use reallymine becouse chipset is Oxford and is not supported.
any idea how to recover it ? like clone to same model WD drive and edit serial number ? ( i have WDmarvell in case )
Thanks

I've never actually tried this, because I have a PC-3000 and it's just a couple clicks for me, but I'd imagine this might work:
1. Adapt the drive to SATA (I assume you've already done this)
2. Clone the data to another same WD family drive with SATA PCB on it
3. Write ROM code of the clone drive's SATA PCB onto the original patient's USB PCB (obviously make a backup of patient ROM first)
4. Put patient USB PCB onto the clone drive.
Let me know if it works out.

PC3k doesn't support Oxford encryption.
He, simply, should use original USB-Sata Oxford based adaptor with cloned drive.
