MHDD diag 4D040H2

February 12th, 2005, 22:26

Hi..

I use last MHDD on a Maxtor 4D040H2 with this result when i scan the surface..

GGGGGGxxxxxxxxxGGGGGGxxxxxxxxxGGGGGGxxxxxxxxxGGGGGGxxx

G means Good block, sure and x = UNC

All 40G have this result..

What does it means? Is this a hardware problem (head crash)?

Hello
This means that you need to

1- Verify the PCB of your hard disk _ some times a very few times the PCB has a
small problem and if you have knowledge in eletronics you will be able to fix it.

2- Call the scan function (F4) anbd turn the option erase waits on, some times this action fix this error.

But if you need the files in it, DO NOT USE ERASE WAITS.

Bone Chance !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
