WD Hawk2 ROM question

April 16th, 2020, 12:12

What is the technique to write a ROM to a Hawk2 family drive. I am sure I am missing something simple:-

If I write the ROM to a new board the drive stays BSY
If I write the ROM and then write ROM mods - still stays BSY

I have tried this with several Hawk2 drives with the same result.
Do checksums need to be recalculated?

Thanks for the reply.
Ace Labs have asked me to role back to 6.0 to see if that makes a difference.
Might be an update issue.

I can confirm that it is PC3000 which is the issue.
Rolling back to 6.0 worked.

Talking about PC3k, i have issues with building head map in DE for samsung drives, first F2EG, now F4_3D, i had to write prog to build map for them, coz the one Pc3k built was kind of shifted (i did not really trace it down, if the shift was consistent, or what, just wrote a prog to build good one).
dunno if anybody noticed such behaviour...
