WD30EZRX-00DC0B0 Media Damage?

April 27th, 2020, 14:03

Had another 3TB WD drive. Drive was clicking with a failed set of heads. Found a perfect match, backed up all resources from donor drive, swapped heads and sounds normal now. The drive becomes ready, but I feel like it is still not able to read the SA region maybe due to some media damage. It's an odd problem it seems.

In PC3000 when I go to Work With RAM / Upload dir into HDD RAM - Upload LDR is checked, and I get this output...

Code:
Module ID 01 reading error Data request error Device Error Detected: "DISK DAM ERROR"

Block 02 module in ROM reset power and boot in kernel mode upload LDR, go back normal model and backup FW.

Head test......
