Hello, friends.
I'm trying to repair my WD Blue WD30EZRZ - 00Z5HB0. I connected it to a modular power supply with a wrong cable. Later I compared the right and wrong cables, and luckily (kinda) the grounds and the 3V was the same, but the 5V and 12V were swapped, with predictable results. Now I tested TVS diodes D3 and D4 and they seem to be fine, no beep on the multimeter. The R43 resistor is, of course, dead, as it's sitting on the 5V rail, so I'll replace it. R60 is okay.
My question is about the capacitor(?) in the red circle. It sits on the ground rail with one end and on the 5V rail with the other. What is it, why is it there, and how can I check if it's ok? I get some reading on the multimeter in beep mode when I touch other capacitors (like 500), but this one shows a completely open circuit, no readings whatsoever, which is good since it's not shorting 5V to ground at least, but how can I make sure that it's okay and if I replace R43 nothing else will be damaged?
Thanks in advance!
