WD External Drive Failure

June 23rd, 2020, 14:26

I have a 2TB WD external drive from a few years ago which has stopped working. Disk Management in Windows shows that all the space is unallocated. If I run WD Data LifeGuard Quick Test, it fails with Status Code = 05 (Failed Electrical test element), Failure Checkpoint = 99(Unknown Test).

Any suggestions on what the issue might be and is there still a way to recover the data from the drive?

Hi. I am scratching my head here. Looks like this post is an exact word-by-word copy of my post from earlier today. Wondering why someone made this duplicate of my post.

Same user also posted another "exact" copy of some other post, likely a bot spammer.
