fail after heads change WD20EARS-07MVWB0

July 21st, 2020, 16:24

hi, I need help
I have a slade 6 that I have had to change heads.
With the donor ROM and its LDR, I can read the entire SA and the heads all ok.
When i put the original rom and load original ldr then they don't read the heads.
Something simple escapes me, but I don't know what it is.

Thanks in advance.

adaptives?

Yes, they are adaptive, but the ROM version is very different and does not take the 0x47 from the donor. I'm going to have to rebuild it by hand.
Any other idea.
Thanks pepe

I have copied the adaptations of the 0x47 module from the donor to the patient and I have not succeeded. At the moment I have run out of ideas.

The patient has rom 0005007 and the donor 00220000.

I have a doubt.
If I can read the SA on this hard drive and the heads are working well, are these heads safe to read the user zone?

Thank you.

Can anyone explain why the heads of a wd like this breaks all at the same time?
Can scratches from the decks damage the preamplifier?

Sure.
But I think that your problem is elsewhere.

Can you give me an opinion on a possible problem? I have placed some heads and I have read 15% of the disk, but the equipment was in bsy and the heads have stopped working. It has happened to me with other albums and I don't know what it can be.

Hello,
Which Tool Are You Using For Doing This Work

I am using mrtlab.
I have solved the problem with adaptations by adapting module 47, but some heads have broken while reading and this usually happens when I recover discs with scratched plates.
