WD palmer Recovery plan

August 26th, 2020, 4:33

By I have to recover data from a WD palmer Family disk ( WD10SDZW -11UMGSD) .
It is not supported in my udma . Disk gets detected and I have selected Venus to enter in utiliy.
I was able to copy MFT .SIze of data is high (600GB). Is there anyway I can do this recovery with my limited resources ?
Which is nearly matching family I should select ?

Sorry you're right, I'm confusing it with Express.

Hi einsein9
Its not Green , its Red card updated till 2018 , but it is not having palmer family.

it does not depend on that. you can use other family util for backing up firmware but you won't be able to do essential fimrware mods and build head map in DE (unless you know how to do these manually).

Yes you are right pepe , only tool is of no use ,skills are equally important.
I have given this job to one of my friend who has updated UDMA express , but he said he can't do "WD slow responding " functions (as it is not supported for this family) .Due to this bad sectors are not efficiently addressed (large data is skipped) and for last 3 days data copying is on.
Like you said skills to perform firmware tasks manually are really important.
