Hello
I need to open hard drives
I know you need a laminar flow hood, but what kind of flow hood?
blower or exhaust
horizontal or vertical
size to work well
thank you for your answers

Air Flow should be from outside to the inside. So it will be blower.

When i researched the matter in order to buy a laminar flow hood i got to the conclusion that Vertical is better for data recovery.
Also make sure it has Hepa (Class 100) or Ulpa (Class 10) Filter. Ulpa is better at filtering even smaller particles than Hepa.
You would also need a Particle Air Meter to check air quality inside the hood before opening drives.
A Magnehelic Gauge (analogue or digital) would also be handy to let you know when your hood filter is full of dust and needs to be changed.
Good luck.

try building a re-circulatory closed system(repassing same volume of air via a HEPA) with glove ports....does far better job...
Infact it can reach better "classes"

+1. It is my understanding that most contaminants are brought into the working area on the HDD and the user's hands and clothing, and I believe horizontal does a better job of moving them out of the work area instead of dropping them onto it.

Thank you for your answer
I thought about making a hood and I even looked for plans, but nothing conclusive.
You may have already done this
I am a buyer
Sincerely
