Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

I picked up a WD 6.0TB Red on ebay that the seller advertised as "clipped to 1.2TB". The model is a WD12EFRX-68MYMN1 with NAS3.0. Is there a way to "unclip" this drive and return it to 6.0TB? I ran it through some basic HHD software and the model shows as a WD12EFRX-68MYMN1.

Sorry, just realized I made a typo. The model number on the HDD should have read WD60EFRX-68MYMN1.

If the drive has a HPA, then you could use HDAT2 to remove it.
There is also this Windows based HPA & DCO tool:

I got one also and ran into the same problem, it appears the firmware was hacked to report as a WD12EFRX instead of the WD60EFRX on the label and hard coded to only allow 1.2TB of the drive to be used, no HPA or DCO usage.

Can you dump the ROM and SA resources with WDMarvel demo?

Different guy, same drive from same ebay seller. Attached is what I think is the rom you requested, but idk maybe I didn't get it right. I did not do the batch file and reboot thing.
