Power outage - HDD not recognized !

May 21st, 2021, 16:37

Hello Forum
After a power outage, a computer HDD isn't recognized anymore.
The drive spins, but there is a clicking noise too.
HDD not recognized, and doesn't come from the BUSY state (I'm using MRT)

Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.
Its a Toshiba DT01ACA100 rev AAA AA10

TIA

Hello,

clicking like a head problem?
preamp might be toast, and it might also write continuously, killing everything on the surface.
it must be sorted out...

Thanks for your reply pepe
Do you advise a head replacement?

yes, it can't hurt.
But if the damage (data and servo erasure) was already done, then there's not much you can do.
