Role of Preamp Type and Headmaps

July 20th, 2021, 7:52

Often Donor drive criteria is not merely matching model /FW /P/N , site code etc. but to match preamp type and Headmap.
I want to know how difference in preamp and head map makes donor incompatible. Which parameters do not get matched with donor .Anyone pls. shade light on this.

Some firmwares do not accept different preamp type at all, ie they halt with some error in that case. Others are not that strict but still unable to configure the different preamp. Head map is critical in that the donor MHA must have at least the heads installed in the patient originally, for trivial reasons.
