By transfer do you mean remove the chip and place on another PCB.
Why did you transfer the ROM.
What was the original fault with the drive.
What controller is it connected to make/model.

If this is a data recovery job you would do better passing this to a DR professional.

Lardman wrote:If the drive is/was spinning it's not likely to be a pcb problem. You can try reading the rom back to ensure is has been written correctly. If the drive spins but isn't recognised you're looking at firmware or physical drive failure, most likely the later on enterprise drives.
