Painful to watch...

February 18th, 2022, 6:13

I normally like to watch Northridge's stuff but https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnfcCfxKtio just makes me want to cry. Brace yourselves for a rash of open drives with physical damage.

Aha, that's what a cleanroom does, suck in contaminated air so it can filter that.

...when I first read your post, I thought you said Northwind, which really had me confused when watching the video.

Was this supposed to be serious video or satire? I hope the latter.

I suspect it's a plug for a new product he's selling - the "clean room" which is obviously designed for iphone and ipad screen replacement.

It's bad enough he's doing that with customer drives, but why upload it to youtube giving everyone else the same idea. Lid off, powered on and waved around. https://youtu.be/FnfcCfxKtio?t=473  I can't wait for part 2.

I watch his videos sometimes. He sells stuff that you can get much cheaper on Alibaba or Aliexpress.
He buys huge quantity of stuffs from China at low price then he sells at much higher cost... i don't like this way of doing business because he make believe people that he sells products that others also sell.

You can find the workbench he sells also on Alibaba at 4 time cost less
https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/ ... 36196.html
and aliexpress
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000349131948.html

If you look carefully at his videos, when he sponsors the products he intends to sell, he never says and never shows the brand or model, to make it difficult to find such products on ebay, aliexpress, etc.

This guy shouldn't be opening or working on drives period. It was painful to watch.

Unfortunately it looks like it's not a satire.
I was very intrigued to comment on his video, but then I saw a bunch of people thanking him for opening their eyes...

This the problem with this type of 'guru channels'. 95% take what he says for truth no matter what. If he speaks on evolution or Covic-19 tomorrow they'll it for granted too. Only very in comment section cast some doubt.

And to check my own sanity: Are microwave particles really a thing

So after watching this video, many may now believe a clean room sucks in contaminated air and 'microwave particles' over the object to then blow it out clean, you repair a clicking hard drive by moving platters, and it's okay to run a drive with lid off. Because Northridge said so.
