Mount drive directly via sata

The enclosure is configured with a sector size of 4096 bytes rather than the drive's 512e LBA size.

DMDE cannot retrieve the drive's Identify Device info block, so it reverts to the number of sectors reported by the bridge.

The drive has a physical problem which causes it to report a capacity of 4294967294 (= 0xFFFFFFFE) sectors. Maybe the bridge grabs one sector for its own use?

    17.6 TB = 4294967294 x 4096 bytes
