Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Hello there!
I'm facing a problem with WD SMR drives again and again.
This year, the third drive came with the same problem. In the past i recovered one WD blue drive and one WD red drive with this problem, but something changed, or someting i forgot.
The drive is in "panic boot loop mode" (Spins up, loads fw, then clicks, spins down, and starts over)
When i disabling 02 module in ROM, i can read all SA modules.
After i "fixed" module 190 with T2 editor and enabled 02 module in RAM, the drive can read LBA sector 0, but all other sectors are timeout sectors, not readable.
As i remember, in the past when i did this steps, i recovered sucessfully this kind of SMR WD drives, but something not works now.
Please help, where to start!

Hi there!
The problem half/solved, now i can read correct sectors only in CHS mode. With UDMA and PIO mode the drive reads many corrupted sectors with full speed (but not all sectors are corrupt)

I can read all SA modules.
but reading it with the wd utility in CHS mode, sectors are mixed..
mean 0 sector is not mbr (part of MFT)
Can you tell me in detail how you did it?
and how did you fix module 190?
Did you set the T2 analysis open to read from file (module 190)?
