.... I got a job lot of barracuda hard disk. unfortunately, pcb and disk have been disassembled, so, even if the disk is the same model, I am not sure what pcb correspond to XY hard disk, etc ...
So, I wonder if, maybe through serial port and F3, I can get some parameters out of pcb that can help me to identify the correspondent hard disk (serial number?).

PS: ST500DM002 is the correct model ... all of them are the same model, pcb is 5701 but there is different version AM, AN, AK, etc ... and anyway, of course, any pcb has its own unique rom

saronno, You can read PCB ROM chip. On Seagate F3 drives it contains the serial number.

I can confirm ... today I read all the rom chip and they contain the serial as parmindo said.
