Head compatibility -ST750LM022 firmware 2AR20003 vs 2AR20002

July 9th, 2023, 20:14

Hi all.
Long time no post.

I have a Samsung ST750LM022 that I suspect has a faulty head and/or platter damage.
I assume it has two 500gb platters with 3 operational heads.

I have two donor drives.
I'm not too sure if these drives have compatible heads.

The customer's drive has firmware 2AR20003 Rev.A.
The HDD P/N is HN-M750MBB/D1.

The donor drives both have firmware 2AR20002 Rev.A
The HDD P/N for both is HN-M750MBB/AS1.

Would these be suitable donors?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide.

Check ROM for headmap and pre-amp. FW version don't tell anything about compatibility.
