Samsung HS06THB HD interface connection

July 29th, 2023, 5:48

Hi Folks
I have the HD described in the title. It came from a friends old Compaq laptop and I am keen to get the data off for him. I thought I could just take it out of the lappy and place it in a caddy but no. It only has a ribbon cable for connections unlike I have ever seen before. Needless to say it will not connect to any of my caddys. An image of the disk with its connections can be viewed here: https://dstockmicro.com/fr/disques-de-stockage/1004-hs06thb.html
Any ideas what I could use?

Thanks.

Interface Types: IDE ATA 1.8in ZIF
Plenty of adapters usual at the places - amazon, ebay , aliexpress etc

Except that it's not 1.8in more like 0.8in. see the attached photo. Maybe it's proprietary, if so there may not be any kind of adapter available.

1.8" doesn't refer to the connector - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zero_insertion_force I can't be bothered to count the pins but at a guess 40 which would be pata.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/External-1-8-I ... 00KZIBJT8/ Should work as should https://www.amazon.co.uk/cigemay-Adapte ... 09QLYH35M/ so should this
